About Yardlie

Yardlie is a home-and-garden guide site for people who look after a yard, whether that is a small patio, a suburban lawn or a first vegetable bed. We publish step-by-step guides on lawns, vegetables, soil and compost, tools, pests and weeds, seasonal jobs and outdoor projects.

Our mission

To give you clear, honest, practical advice you can act on in a weekend — with real quantities, timings and step order, and without pressure to buy anything. We describe products generically and we do not publish affiliate links or sponsored content.

How our guides are written

• Every guide starts with the job itself, not a general essay. We state what you need, what to do first, and what to watch for.
• Numbers are guidelines, worded as “typically” or “a common guideline”, unless they are a direct measurement such as a depth or spacing we recommend.
• Where a product is involved, we say “follow the product label” and we never give mixing instructions.
• For electrical work, tree felling, structural work and other high-risk jobs, we advise hiring a qualified professional.
• Guides are reviewed for clarity and accuracy before publication and updated when advice changes. The “updated” date on each guide shows its latest revision.

Who writes Yardlie?

Guides are written by the Yardlie Editorial Team. We describe our work as general guidance for home gardeners. We do not claim to be certified experts, and our guides are not a substitute for professional advice for your specific property, soil or local rules.

How we are funded

Yardlie is currently funded by its owner. In future we may show Google AdSense advertising after approval. We do not accept sponsored posts. If that changes, this page and our Editorial Policy will be updated first.
